SUMMARY:Doing It Differently: How Sex and Disability Really Feels with Andrew Gurza
DESCRIPTION:This class will be held online via Zoom — you’ll receive an email with access information prior to the event. While classes are LIVE in nature and by default not recorded\, some educators have chosen to offer recordings of their classes to pre-registered attendees; please inquire for specifics of this event. Registration deadline: 2:30 p.m. PST on the day of class. No day-of cancellations. \n\n\n\nThis class will introduce you to sex and disability in a way you may not have considered before. Usually if we talk about sex and disability\, we tend to focus on the mechanics of sex and disability. “Do your genitals work?” “Can you have sex?” etc. These questions are super ableist and don’t go much deeper. \n\n\n\nIn this class\, we will rework this question to ask “How does sex and disability feel?” In doing so\, we will uncover the emotional aspects of sex and disability that often go overlooked. Andrew will give tips and tricks on how to ask the question\, how to confront sexual ableism\, and how to have hot\, disabled sex. \n\n\n\nAndrew Gurza is an award winning Disability Awareness Consultant and the Chief Disability Officer and Co-founder of Handi\, a sextech company for and by disabled people. He uses he/they pronouns and identifies proudly as disabled. Their work has been featured on BBC\, CBC\, Daily Xtra\, Gay Times UK\, Huffington Post\, The Advocate\, Everyday Feminism\, Mashable\, Out.com\, and several anthologies. Andrew has guested on a number of podcasts including Dan Savage’s Savage Love and Cameron Esposito’s Queery. He has spoken all over the world on sex\, disability and what it means to be a Queer Cripple. He is the host of Disability After Dark: The Podcast Shining a Bright Light on Disability Stories and the creator of the viral hashtag #DisabledPeopleAreHot. You can connect with Andrew via social media @AndrewGurza_. \n\n\n\n\n\nWe’re offering 2 free class spots to folks with financial need; please fill out this form if you are interested. Two people will be chosen randomly and contacted at least 2 weeks prior to class to confirm.

SUMMARY:Trans Femme-Tastic!
\n\n\n\nThis one goes out to all trans feminine folks\, be they you and/or your sweetheart(s)! For far too long\, the sexual experiences of trans women and AMAB nonbinary people have been represented as tragic and bleak\, but this class is here to reinvigorate our collective curiosity! \n\n\n\nJoin Aria Carpenter in a workshop that explores trans feminine wellness and pleasure\, driven by personal and community-sourced knowledge. Whether you’re pre-op\, post-op\, non-op\, on hormones\, or not\, this class will be the perfect place to get vibrator recommendations\, anatomical knowledge\, pleasure techniques\, and resources. In the absence of conventional wisdom on our bodies and pleasure\, we must be ready to share what knowledge we have with one another; so be prepared for a conversation where attendees are encouraged to steer the direction of discussion based on their needs and curiosity! \n\n\n\nAria Carpenter (she/her/hers) has been working as a sex educator for over three years. In that time\, she has dedicated herself to nothing more passionately than the representation of trans feminine bodies in sex positive spaces. She seeks to cast a celebratory light on otherwise tragic representations of the sexual experiences of people like her\, breaking away from dead-end genital dichotomies to acknowledge the vast albeit marginalized wisdom that already exists within her community. Aria dreams of a day when cisnormativity doesn’t define sex positive spaces; when a freshly-out trans girl can walk into a self-proclaimed women’s sex shop and feel seen\, rather than alienated or out of place. \n\n\n\n\n\nWe’re offering 2 free class spots to folks with financial need; please fill out this form if you are interested. Two people will be chosen randomly and contacted at least 2 weeks prior to class to confirm.
