In this workshop with Violet\, you will learn the ins and outs of what happens in one’s brain when a kink scene is occurring\, and why that makes aftercare so necessary. You’ll learn how to complete the response cycle and create positive and uplifting experiences for your and your partner. Violet will answer questions and cover topics such as: \n\n\n\nWhat is aftercare?What are subdrop and domdrop?What happens in the brain during kink scene?How to negotiate your aftercare needs as a submissiveCommunication tips for expressing your aftercare needsSocial implications of prioritizing needs\n\n\n\nViolet is a queer\, polyamorous sex educator\, pleasure coach\, and confidante for your sexual adventures. She studied human sexuality studies at Rutgers University and found herself burdened by an irresistible lure of curiosity in all things sex. She spent time working as a sex education teacher at the Masakhane Center in Newark\, NJ\, facilitating sex positive\, youth driven workshops. She now facilitates sex education workshops in New York City\, and works with clients 1:1. By merging her education background and personal experience\, she learned how to cultivate power through her sexuality. No day-of cancellations. \n\n\n\nMany people are drawn to alternative lifestyles such as BDSM\, ethical non-monogamy (ENM)\, polyamory\, and swinging because they are seeking to explore a different side of themselves. As part of the learning process\, people often feel it is important to find a community to help educate them on their new lifestyle journey\, but seeking out a community for education and camaraderie can be the most difficult part of the journey. At times\, it may feel as though you have joined a club\, but never learned the secret handshake. \n\n\n\nIn this session\, Dirty Lola will share ways to find your place within the alternative community that mesh with your needs and desires. She will cover topics ranging from appropriate lifestyle etiquette and finding a community\, to negotiation and safety. \n\n\n\nDirty Lola is a sex edutainer\, speaker\, and self-proclaimed dildo slinger. Known for her live sex ed Q&A show Sex Ed A Go-Go and as co-host of New York Magazine’s The Cut’s “Sex Probz” web series\, Lola has spent almost a decade working to end stigma and shame surrounding sex and sexuality. Having started her journey sharing personal discoveries with polyamory and kink online\, Lola now uses her knowledge\, warm candor and public platforms to teach the masses in-person and to rapt Internet audiences. \n\n\n\n\n\nWe’re offering 2 free class spots to folks with financial need; please fill out this form if you are interested.
