DESCRIPTION:This class will be held online via Zoom — you’ll receive an email with access information prior to the event. While classes are LIVE in nature and by default not recorded\, some educators have chosen to offer recordings of their classes to pre-registered attendees; please inquire for specifics of this event. Registration deadline: 2:30 p.m. PST on the day of class. No day-of cancellations. \n\n\n\nWith all of the misinformation — or downright lack of information! — out there about those who work within the sex industry\, it’s no wonder folks have a difficult time wrapping their heads around the exchange of fantasy for money between consenting adults. As we all can logically agree upon\, education is one of the most effective means by which to combat stigma\, stereotype\, and fear. But where does the average person turn to learn about sex work? \n\n\n\nAndre Shakti is a veteran sex worker who has successfully operated within a multitude of industry genres\, including — but not limited to — stripping\, professional domination\, webcam modeling\, and porn performance. In this class\, Andre will facilitate a forum that acts as a safe space for ALL of your burning questions\, no matter how “stupid” or “silly”! \n\n\n\nIs sex work the same as sex trafficking?Aren’t all sex workers abused and/or addicted?How can I be the best partner to a sex worker?How can I have conversations with my sex worker friend or family member?How much money do sex workers make?What are the real risks involved in sex work?How do people get into the sex industry?How do sex workers keep themselves sexually safe?& more!\n\n\n\nAndre Shakti (she/her) is a queer cis yt sex educator\, columnist and professional slut living in Baltimore\, MD. She wrestles mediocre men into submission and is the reigning polyamory pundit at her non-monogamy advice column “I Am Poly(amorous) & So Can You!” She also helms SANCTUARY Virtual Strip Club\, bringing LGBTQ+ dirty digital delights to private screens.
